Quran and women

There has been a lot of misconception about the Quran and women over the years, and part of it is due to a misunderstanding of the Muslim religion and of basic tradition in different homelands. Religion is completely different from tradition, and this is evident when you study the Muslim religion in different countries around the world. In Afghanistan a woman does not have the right to be educated because she is a woman. This has nothing to do with religion but rather with tradition. In looking at many other countries from a global perspective you will see that Muslim women are indeed allowed to be educated.

It may be noted that there are many references to women in the Quran, and they are very positive and respectful towards women. It says that women should be treated with kindness and equity and never treated harshly unless they have been guilty of lewdness in the open. It also says that the creation of man and woman was made so that they would be able to live together as wives and husbands in love harmony and peace. The Quran and women, they are both highly respected in a Muslim culture.

Any Muslim man follows the work of the Quran and women follow it as well because it teaches basic truths and goodness for all. When examining the Quran and women in the Muslim culture, you can see that women should be highly regarded and respected. Men should not harm their wives. The man should not have sex with his wife during her menstruation time, but is able to sleep with her and touch her. As you can see the Muslim women must be treated properly in the relationship, and the woman is afforded many rights as well. If a man treats her badly she has the right to seek out a divorce if she wants to. She is not trapped in an oppressed relationship due to the religion at all. It is tradition and culture only that dictates oppressive behavior in some Muslim countries.

The Quran also states that women have equal rights, and that the birth of a female baby girl is not a big tragedy. Muslim women have a total right to education. Regarding Quran and women, men should treat them without harshness, Muslim women should treat her man with admiration and affection, and there should be loving and kindness running through the marriage. The Quran and women has been misunderstood for many years, but following the guidelines in it will give you a happy prosperous Muslim marriage.
