Profiles with pictures will get many more responses than those without. This is the most important hint we can give you.

Use pleasant writing and be friendly
Don't write ENTIRELY IN UPPER CASE LETTERS because it looks horrible. The profile is harder to read and makes it look like you are shouting. Take enough time to write your profile using upper case letters only where they are appropriate.

Use a Memorable Nickname

Use a nickname that people will remember. Use one that’s different, unique, and most of all, sincere. Let your nickname fit your personality.

Spell check your profile.
A good method for making sure that you look as good in writing as you do in pictures is to type your description in a word processor, and spell-check it. After spell-checking it, paste it into your profile. If you speak only a little English, then ask someone to help with your profile.

Use the Description Area well.
Although you would like to type your whole life story, keep it short and simple. Too many details, may lose a reader’s attention. Keep the details for when you message each other.

Don't repeat information.
Don't waste space by giving information that is displayed elsewhere in your profile. Don't write "I am a 25 year old accountant from US" because your age, profession and city are already displayed in your profile.

Be Honest.
You may get a lot of responses if you describe yourself as a stunningly attractive millionaire, but sooner or later the person you are seeking to marry will find out the truth, so unless you really are a stunningly attractive millionaire, stick to the truth.
All of these hints can be summarized in one sentence: take your time and do it right! If you put in the effort, you will reap the benefit later.
